Tongji University (China)
Board Member Nominee
I truly believe the mission and vision of WDO, and the statement of changing of design, and I hope can be a part of the changes. That’s the main reason that I decided to run for the board of ICSID in 2015, and now in 2017. As the first board member from main-land China, I’m so happy that I have devoted myself on connecting China to WDO and vice versa. As the Vice President of China Industrial Design Association, the Dean of Tongji University- a leading design school in China, and many international academic roles, I’d like to take the advantage of these roles to engage the design community, including industries, academia and governments, to identify and co-create opportunities for using industrial design to enable more sustainable consumption and production patterns. For the future of WDO, I’d like to support the transformation from ICSID to WDO to be proceed successfully, not only at organizational level, but the long term positive impacts on professionals, academies, society, and economy can be delivered. we can and should do a lot in using design to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
