The National Center for Industrial Design and Innovation 2050.LAB has been named a winner of this year’s iF DESIGN AWARD, the world-renowned design prize organized by Hannover-based iF International Forum Design GmbH. The winning product, OIII won in the concept discipline.
OIII [ɔtri] urban driverless transportation system won over the 132-member jury, made up of independent experts from all over the world, with its unique design. The competition was intense: almost 11,000 entries were submitted from 57 countries in hopes of receiving the seal of approval.
OIII is designed to make urban transportation more effective and human-centered. Being a unified robot-car for different purposes (transportation, delivery, collection of recycling), it can decrease expenses in production, becoming more sustainable and less harmful for the environment. Autonomous technology provides efficient logistics – OIII platforms are always busy without empty stock, thus it helps to save finances. The project demonstrates not only the unique appearance of autonomous mobility, but also the innovative vision of urban infrastructure. The non-trivial solution to separate the chassis from the cab/wagon module increases the bright image and the uniqueness of OIII.
