2019-2021 WDO Treasurer

Educational Member

It’s been a privilege to be a member of the Board of Directors 2017-2019, and to work with dedicated teams from the Secretariat and WDO members around the world.

Together we achieved an increase in membership, an expansion of programmes, and the reintroduction of a Research and Education Forum as part of the World Design Assembly Hyderabad 2019.

For the 2019-2021 term, we can expand our progress. One of our most important goals will be to clearly demonstrate and build the long-term value of membership in all categories. This can be accomplished by better understanding the range of objectives of all members.

We must continue to engage young designers early in their professional careers. We must reach out and support promotional and professional initiatives around the world. And we must remember that true progress means designing more sustainably. I have directed pilot projects, and supervised graduate research, on the integration of UN SDGs in design programs. This experience can support the WDO global network to identify opportunities in many contexts.

I’ve worked across a range of design disciplines and global settings, I value diversity and collaboration, and I am deeply committed to working with all WDO members around the world.
