DESCRIPTION:The Ohio State University Department of Design is hosting a public lecture that kicks off the annual Butter Goeller “Design Affair”. Anne Asensio\, Vice President of Design Innovation & Experience at WDO Member Organization Dassault Systèmes\, will be giving a public lecture\, Design for Life\, on Wednesday\, 22 March\, in Sullivant Hall 220 at 5:30pm EDT. \nFollowing the lecture\, a two-day (23–24 March) design Les Ateliers-A-Thon (workshop/hackathon) will be facilitated by Anne Asensio and Dassault Systèmes for students in design\, engineering and urban planning to strategize creative and sustainable scenarios within a virtual universe on Mobility in an Urban and Sub-Urban Environment. \n

SUMMARY:Livable Proximity: A Design-Orienting Scenario
DESCRIPTION:Georgia Tech’s School of Industrial Design (SID) hosts a series of SID Open Talks. As a part of this Open Talk series\, Ezio Manzini will give a lecture on city design. The lecture discusses this scenario of proximity\, showing how it has emerged from the grassroots social innovations of the past 20 years\, and how\, in some cities\, it has become a reference for action\, sometimes using the expression “15-minute city\, with the creation of new proximity systems capable of responding to many\, if not all\, the daily needs of citizens.” \nEzio Manzini is an honorary professor at Politecnico di Milano and the Chair Professor at University of the Arts in London.
