Can a specifically German tradition in the sense of the Werkbund\, Bauhaus\, and HfG Ulm still be effective in the present\, or does this—as often in the past—rather reflect the wishful thinking of designers? \nWhat is expected of design beyond mere styling? What role do we as designers have\, and what role do we want to play? How can we fulfill this role?
