Montreal (Canada) – Today the International Council of Societies for Industrial Design (Icsid) launched its call for EOIs to host its 30th General Assembly (GA) in 2017. As an international non-profit organisation representing the field of industrial design, Icsid seeks to collaborate with organisers of an established design event to host its GA and celebrate its 60th anniversary.

Icsid convenes its GA biennially, bringing together approximately 150 participants from over 40 countries including Icsid leadership, membership, other INGOs and key stakeholders to discuss progress in industrial design and to plan future initiatives, including its flagship World Design Capital® (WDC), World Design Impact Prize and World Design Partner® Programme. The GA is Icsid’s highest authority, with decisions being made on key issues affecting the future of the industry, as reflected by its membership and the wider international design community.

Icsid Secretary General Ms. Dilki de Silva today said, “By partnering with an established design event, we aim to leverage existing expertise so that we may focus on enhancing the profile of the industry and addressing issues around the power of design to effect positive social change.”

The deadline for expressions of interest is 16 February 2015 at 17:00 (EST). Interested parties may download the EOI form along with the guide outlining the bid process, eligibility criteria, submission requirements, fees, and timeline from the event page.
