During the visit by the Icsid Executive Board, NID organized an interesting programme, which included a meeting with local Icsid Members, as well as students, staff and alumni of NID at the institute’s campus in Bangalore. Additionally, the board had the opportunity to visit the Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology, also in Bangalore, where they received a warm reception and an informative overview of the educational institution’s innovative programmes and new campus by its students and teaching team.

As a key item on the agenda of the meeting, the board reviewed the plans for the launch of the call for nominations for the World Design Impact Prize project – a new initiative created to recognize, empower and stimulate socially responsible design projects and initiatives around the world.

The board also discussed Icsid’s partnership in the International Design Alliance (IDA) and the challenges it faced in aligning Icsid’s objectives with those of its partner organisations. As a result of the discussion, the board made several recommendations to the IDA committee regarding the IDA congress project and the future operations of the committee, which will be discussed by the committee at its meeting in Montreal in mid-April.
