A new design award has entered the international arena. Launched in July 2024, designers and design enterprises from across the globe are now invited to submit their work to the Lilac Creative Design Award (LDA).
An initiative hosted by WDO Promotional Member Harbin Design Center, and supported by the Propaganda Department of CPC Heilongjiang Provincial Committee and the Propaganda Department of CPC Harbin Municipal Committee, the Lilac Creative Design Award 2024 is more than just a design competition, it is a global platform to connect creative talent and promote design as a key part of industrial and cultural prosperity.
Under the theme Creative Design Connects the World, the LDA adheres to a “people-oriented” approach and showcase Heilongjiang Province’s commitment to fostering creativity, especially as the region aims to position itself as a hub for global design excellence. Some of the award’s key objectives include “attracting high-quality global design and innovation resources, stimulating inspiration collisions in the design field, exploring new paths for design innovation, injecting new vitality and momentum into the development of the global design industry, and creating a new chapter of design leading a better future.”
Indeed, one of the unique aspects of the Lilac Creative Design Award is its focus on empowering industries and communities through creative solutions, such that winning designs will not only receive recognition but also contribute to ongoing exhibitions and discussions aimed at shaping the future of design globally.
The competition is divided into four categories: Industrial Creative Design, Digital Creative Design, Visual Creative Design, and Cultural and Creative Design, each catering to specific aspects of design innovation, such as sustainable product development, digital art, branding, and cultural heritage integration. Submissions will be reviewed by a jury of design experts.
With submissions are open to institutions, creative design enterprises, creative design individuals and creative design teams, the call for entries will run until 20 October 2024. Winners will be announced in December 2024 during an award ceremony and be showcased as part of a dedicated exhibition.
