On 8 October 2024, WDO Members Andreu World, Braun and Fundació del Disseny de la Comunitat Valenciana organized Manufacturing a Better World: Braun as a Success Story, an evening exploring ideas for a more sustainable future through conscious design.
Held at Museu Valencià de Il·lustració i de la Modernitat as part of Valencia Design Week, the event featured a presentation from WDO Board Member Benjamin Wilson celebrating Braun’s latest publication Designed to Keep, followed by a roundtable on sustainable design practices from across the industry.
The panel discussion, moderated by Ramón Arnau Quintero, President of Asociación de Diseñadores de la Comunidad Valenciana, brought together Sergio Chismol Pérez, Design Manager at Andreu World, Ana Segovia Ciudad Real, Co-Founder of Odosdesign, Marina Puyuelo, Senior Professor at Universitat Politècnica de València, and Benjamin Wilson, Director of Communications at Braun, generating an engaging exchange of opinions. The experts shared different perspectives on timeless products and designs rooted in simplicity, functionality, and quality, and how these principles align with sustainability and innovation today.
This event forms part of the Circular Design Challenge®, a challenge that Andreu World is leading globally under the motto Manufacturing a better world. This initiative promotes a new vision of more sustainable design, manufacturing, and distribution, while urging the adoption of practices such as eco-design, waste management, carbon neutrality, and the use of environmentally friendly materials.
