I was elected as a Board Member of WDO for the period 2017-2019 in which important and necessary changes inside the organization took place. Personally, these years have given me a better understanding of how the organization works as well as the scope and challenges it faces. In this sense, I am convinced that a greater presence of the Hispanic design community is required to have a better knowledge of its particular context, and I will be working to accomplish this. I consider that it is necessary for Spanish-speaking countries to recognize and join in achieving the objectives of the WDO, understanding that design is a key factor for sustainable local development. Therefore, my
commitment remains to support and increase the WDO design network in order to promote the development of communities within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals throughout WDO international programs such as World Design Capital and World Design Talks, as well as to reinforce the academic activities that I believe are necessary to drive design to effect positive changes.
