A delegation of senior officials from Hong Kong, headed by Victor Lo, the President of the Board of Governors of the Hong Kong Design Center, met in Torino with the Vice President of the Organising Committee of Torino 2008 World Design Capital and Regional Councilor for Universities, Research and Policies for Innovation, Andrea Bairati, the Director, Paola Zini and the head of International Relations, Giuliano Molineri.

The objective of the meeting: to promote the event, which in 2008 will see Torino in a leading role in the panorama of international design, and lay the foundations for collaboration in view of this important appointment.

The meeting took place during a visit organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the body dedicated to commercial and foreign policy, in collaboration with the Institute of Foreign Commerce and the Italian General Consulate in Hong Kong, in order to finalise preparations of BODW (Business of Design Week), one of the most important events of the international calendar of design, which will take place in Hong Kong from December 10-15, 2007, right on the eve of the launch in Torino.

Every year, BODW dedicates a celebratory day to design in one of the countries that is a leader in the sector and the chosen country cooperates in realising the event. This year, the day will be dedicated to Italian design.
