Montreal (Canada) – The International Design Alliance (IDA) has opened the call for interest for its 2015 IDA Congress. Full details regarding the bid process and conditions can be found at www.idacongress.com. The deadline for proposal submissions is 7 December 2011.
The IDA is a strategic venture between Icsid, Icograda and IFI – the three international organisations representing industrial design, communication design and interior architecture/design. The IDA exists to reinforce and further the design community working together for a world that is balanced, inclusive and sustainable.
The IDA Congress is the sole collaborative project of the IDA recognised for its ambition to unite designers and their stakeholders—world bodies, governments, business and society – to shape regional and global agendas that further the impact of design. Together, design experts and industry thought leaders discuss and debate thematic topics that provide delegates with inspiration, ideas and professional guidance.
The biennial congress enables all stakeholders to explore the unique attributes of design disciplines through dedicated programme sessions, as well as multidisciplinary sessions that explore the strengths of collaboration between disciplines, in particular those of the IDA.
The benefits of hosting an IDA Congress include recognition for the host organiserʼs local region for design globally, high calibre speaker roster, international media coverage, lucrative sponsor and partnership building, long-term recognition and relationship with the networks of the IDA partner organisations, local and regional design alliance-building and support based on best practices of previous events organised by the IDA.
The inaugural IDA Congress will take place in Taipei, Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) from 24-26 October 2011. The 2013 IDA Congress will be hosted in Istanbul, Turkey from 17-19 November 2013. By combining the membership strength and global outreach of all three IDA Partners, the 2015 IDA Congress promises to attract international design professionals, promoters, educators and corporations from the memberships of the IDA partners, as well as delegates from the extended global design community and those with an interest or stake in design for a truly unique event.
The IDA invites bidders to propose a theme and innovative programme format that addresses both cross-discipline and specific content to the disciplines of the IDA, which will result in an enhanced awareness of the value of design and improved quality of life for all.
