UN Women in Asia and the Pacific and WDO launched a World Design Challenge to create a global mobilization of design professionals in an effort to brainstorm, research and ideate innovative solutions to the egregious reality of violence against women and girls (VAWG).
Violence against women is learned, and can therefore be unlearned or prevented entirely. Focused on the Asia Pacific region, this World Design Challenge took place over 12 days from 10 – 21 August 2020 and brought together volunteer workgroups from around the globe who worked remotely to address the most urgent factors of this issue.
