DESCRIPTION:Venice Design Week is the festival dedicated to design held in the city of Venice\, every October since 2010. For a week\, the lagoon of Venice comes alive with exhibitions\, conferences and meetings\, competitions\, workshops and guided tours that take place in a unique setting\, full of history and contemporaneity\, in a continuous exchange between cultures meeting and mutual comparison. VDW is a widespread event\, in symbiosis with the city that hosts it\, and that winds its way through calli and campielli\, private galleries and museums\, homes and artists’ studios\, stores and workshops. \nVenice Design Week is also an unmissable opportunity for connection and dialogue between established and emerging designers\, international companies\, artisans\, architects and a curious and passionate public.

SUMMARY:Call for entries to Seats of Understanding
DESCRIPTION:The 15th International Design Contest Trieste Contemporanea \nThe new edition of this ideas competition\, founded in 1995 by Italian scholar of aesthetics and design Gillo Dorfles\, is an initiative towards “GO! 2025—Nova Gorica and Gorizia European Capital of Culture 2025” event. The initiative is carried out under the patronage of the Central European Initiative (CEI) and the ADI\, the Italian Association for Industrial Design. \nCandidates are invited to submit an original and unpublished project for an iconic item of street furniture: a functional seating installation (e.g. a bench)\, that could also represent symbolic meanings linked to historical location of Nova Gorica/Gorizia (cities forming one continuous urban area on the Italian-Slovenian border) and the sharing of cultural values. \nParticipation is open\, without charge\, to professionals of any age from Central Eastern Europe. The competition has a total prize fund of € 10\,000\,00. \nContestants have to apply by May 12\, 2024 through the online application form on the Trieste Contemporanea website. \nThe award ceremony will take place in Trieste by the end of June 2024.
