Design District Hong Kong (#ddHK) peers into the future for its finale with the theme ‘transFORM’. Set against the spectacular backdrop of Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour, #ddHK draws inspiration from Chinese gardens to turn open spaces into an ‘open-air design district gallery’, with 7 sets of design installations by local and overseas designers/artists. The newly opened harbourfront area is transformed with delightful colours and fixtures, spanning Causeway Bay’s Victoria Park and Typhoon Shelter all the way to Central, starting from 5 June. Among the installations is the highly acclaimed ‘Skynet’ art by world renowned artist Patrick Shearn, who took inspiration from the Victoria Harbour to create a mid-air kinetic sculpture ‘River of Light’. Composed of over 45,000 colourful streamers, the 700-square-metre sculpture will flutter above the harbour day and night.
