In 2019, Anxi County in China was awarded the title of “World Capital of Rattan Iron Art” by the World Crafts Council. By 2023, Anxi’s rattan iron industry had a total output value of 28.6 billion yuan. To further address the industry’s design needs, Anxi is launching the inaugural World Rattan Iron Crafts Capital Cup Industrial Design Competition. This event aims to explore how design can empower new developments, opportunities, and layouts for Anxi’s rattan iron craft industry.
