The 2025 Taipei Design Award Ceremony was held on 21 November 2025 at the Regent Taipei. The highest honour, the Grand Prize, was awarded to the Japanese firm NOIZ for Yoichi Ochiai’s design, “null²”, which received a prize of NT$600,000.

Curated by media artist Yoichi Ochiai and designed by NOIZ Architects, “null²” is the theme pavilion for the Osaka Expo 2025. The building is composed of steel structures and a group of cubic voxels, covered with a highly reflective metallic membrane that undulates with the wind, creating a dynamic, breathing effect. Inside, sound and mechanical installations combine to create a living architectural entity that interacts with the environment and people, symbolizing the intersection of parallel worlds and exploring new relationships between humans and technology, the physical and the virtual.
