Humanizing Design

Under the theme Humanizing Design, WDO’s 31st Assembly was held on 11- 12 October 2019 in tandem with the Hyderabad Design Week.

The event was also be preceded by a one-day Research and Education Forum, which was held on 10 October 2019.

The Assembly took place at Hyderabad International Convention Center (HICC) – one of India’s most advanced convention facilities, managed by leading hospitality and tourism management group, AccorHotel. It is connected to the Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre.

About Hyderabad

Hyderabad is the capital of the southern Indian state of Telangana, situated on the banks of the Musi River and on the Deccan Plateau. Greater Hyderabad covers 650 sq km, making it on of the largest metropolitan areas India. It is known today as the home of the second largest film industry in India (Tollywood) and as an emerging technology pole in India (with headquarters from Google and Microsoft situated in the recently built neighborhood of Cyberabad).


The Government of Telangana, Industries and Commerce Department was the official Host Organizer. It has chosen India Design Forum (IDF) as the PCO and organizer of the five-day design event. IDF is India’s first design platform, founded in 2012 with the mission to promote innovation, encourage design thinking, foster continued design education, and create awareness of the power of design in India.
