Sustainability-driven interior design studio ADesignStorie, founded by 2023-2025 WDO’s Young Designers Circle Member Alicia Storie, presents the House of Wellbeing, a pair of tiny house installations that blend biophilic design principles with innovative sustainable materials.

The House of Wellbeing features two timber-framed structures—the Biophilic Home and the Biophilic Studio—that serve as backdrops for a curated selection of climate-conscious materials.

The Biophilic Home invites visitors to explore how small-scale living can enhance well-being while reducing environmental impact.

The Biophilic Studio offers an interactive space where visitors participate in workshops on sustainable interior design.

Inspired by the principles of the circular economy, the curation of materials on display in the structures focuses on those that aim to eliminate waste and pollution, extend product lifecycles, and, where possible, regenerate natural systems.

Materials include Graphenstone’s CO2-absorbing paint, seaweed + paper waste light fixture by Tŷ Syml, Mycelium wall panels from Mogu, and a rammed earth wall finish by Clayworks.

Additionally, The Future Materials Table invites participants to design their own conscious materials palette and includes a library of samples comprising of 51 biomaterials designed by a series of biomaterial artists and designers, including Earthli Projects. The selection showcased materials like mycelium, hemp bioplastic, seaweed bioplastic, paper pulp, earth, and coffee leather.

Conceptualized by Alicia Storie, multi-award-winning designer, design council expert, and advocate for climate-conscious design, the House of Wellbeing is rooted in the belief that design is a powerful tool for change. Storie said, “This installation is an exploration of sustainable materials and biophilic principles and their potential to shape a future where interiors enhance the well-being of both people and the planet.”

Materials were curated in collaboration with Do Not Go Gently and Earthli Projects. For more details, visit adesignstorie.com or @adesignstorie on Instagram.
