GIDA is an international design prize driven by globalization, specialization and market orientation. The prize is created to discover future design, inspire future life and empower future cities by exploring the Chinese concept of “harmony” and exchanging the global experience of good designs featuring intelligence and sustainable development.
The DFA Design for Asia Awards is the flagship programme of the Hong Kong Design Centre, celebrating design excellence and acknowledging outstanding designs with Asian perspectives. Since its launch in 2003, the DFA Design for Asia Awards has been a stage upon which design talents and corporations can showcase their design projects internationally.
The Andreu World International Design Contest has been held annually since 2001, which surely makes it one of the oldest in the world, and is unique in its specialty, the design of seats and tables. 2020 International Busan Design Award(ibda) is an open place for the international design industry to share various design concepts and to revitalize the industry by linking platforms in order to realize and commercialize the ideas. The event is co-organized by the Busan Metropolitan City, the Busan Office of Education, the Busan Chamber of Commerce, and the Design Council Busan, and hosted by the Design Council Busan. We hope to see your ideas in Asia’s largest international design awards.
Over the years, Taipei City Government has been devoted to shaping Taipei into a city with design visions and has been continuously conveying to those with a passion for design and creativeness the urban branding of “Design Taipei; Dream Taipei.” Taipei City Government extends its invitation to designers from all over the world to join in and vie for the highest honor. The total prize money is up to NT 3.8 million, including NT 600K for the grand prize -Taipei City Mayor Award. There will also select Golden/Silver/Bronze prizes with prize money NT 500K/200K/150K for each category.
Good Design (GD) Selection, hosted by the Korean government Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by KIDP (Korea Institute of Design Promotion), has been held annually since 1985 based on the Industrial Design Promotion Act. The products and services selected thorough this program are given GD Marks in acknowledgement of their design excellence. The Relating Systems Thinking and Design Symposium series started in Oslo in 2012 with RSD1. The symposium series has the intention to promote and foster the emerging practices and theory development for systemic design for complex contexts. RSD has been held in Europe and North America, in Oslo, Banff, Toronto, Torino and Chicago. This time RSD will be held at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, India.
