OCEAN PLASTIC INNOVATION CHALLENGE

February 11 - December 9
The Ocean Plastic Innovation Challenge, organized by National Geographic and Sky Ocean Ventures, asks problem solvers from around the globe to develop novel solutions to tackle the world’s plastic waste crisis. The challenge is a one-year competition composed of three complementary tracks that will run simultaneously—Design, Circular Economy, and Data Visualization.

WORLD CAMPUS MASTERS COMPETITION

World Campus Masters Selective Graduation Design Program (short for "WCM Program”) is launched by an international design competition platform Young Bird Plan, and it is committed to recognizing the fresh blood of contemporary design through evaluating graduation designs from global young designers in different regions and cultures. It encourages original design and design thinking in campus to conduct a positive dialogue with global design industry and industrial development, bringing young designers and their graduation works to one of the world's most influential design platform and the cutting-edge design ecosystem.

LIMA DESIGN WEEK

BIO 26

ENCUENTRO BID

The Encuentro BID is a platform for reflection and debate of the Ibero-American community of Design Teaching Centers, organized by DIMAD within the framework of the Ibero-American Design Biennial (BID). CARS: ACCELERATING THE MODERN WORLD

This exhibition, organized by the Victoria & Albert's Museum, explores how the car as a driving force has accelerated the pace of change over the past century. It will bring together 15 diverse cars to tell extraordinary stories about design and the car's impact on the broader world. These cars include the first production car in existence; an autonomous flying car; a converted low-rider; and a 1950s concept car. Many of these cars have never been on show in the UK before, and their display will be uniquely juxtaposed with a diverse collection of products, fashion, graphics, photography and film, to draw connections to wider spheres of design and public life.

MANIFATTURE APERTE

WORLD ARCHITECTURE FESTIVAL

The World Architecture Festival is an annual festival and awards ceremony dedicated to the architecture and development industry. Alongside the awards programme, attendees can find keynotes and seminars across two stages, architecture city tours, an exhibition of high-end manufacturers, fringe events, parties and more. There will be 48 speakers, 550 live finalist's presentations, 146 judges, and 35 awards winners.

GOLDEN PIN DESIGN AWARD 2019 FORUM, DESIGN & SUSTAINABILITY

The annual Golden Pin Design Award 2019 Forum returns this December 5, staging talks from 4 international design luminaries at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taiwan (Chinese Taipei). The theme of this year’s forum is ‘Design & Sustainability’, following on from last year’s forum that was themed ‘Design & Social Responsibility’. Hosted by the prominent TVBS news anchor Lulu Hsia, the opening remarks will be given by Taiwan Design Center’s chairman Chi-Yi Chang, followed by the 4 speakers - Huat Lim, Haruna Yamada and Hirokazu Kobayashi, Luisa Bocchietto - and finally guest panelist Tony Chi. Audience members can listen in English, Chinese, or Japanese with live translation throughout the talks.

WDC LILLE 2020 WORLD STREET FESTIVAL

The World Design Street Festival is the kick-off celebration to the WDC Calendar Year.
