Where designers lead, resilience follows.

Everyday, in different ways, designers are building resilience, pursuing a kind of design that can withstand the challenges of our time. Design that anticipates and adapts, that rebuilds what is broken and improves what already exists.

For designers, resilience is built in practice when we turn uncertainty into creative action. It takes shape in our studios when we push the boundaries of innovation. It grows in our classrooms as we embrace experimentation and learn from failure. And it flourishes in our communities when we design with care to protect our built and natural environments.

Everyday, designers are building resilience not just for themselves, but for the individuals, organizations and communities we serve.

This World Industrial Design Day, we invite the global design community to join us as explore the practices, approaches and conversations that are building resilient design across personal, professional and environmental spaces.

Stay tuned for more updates on how you can join our celebration of resilience this 29 June. In the meantime, check out our list of suggested WIDD activities to get inspired and start planning your own event.
