Overseeing Good Design Award (G Mark), sole comprehensive design award in Japan.
Having contributed for international design award collaboration establishment for more than 15 years.
Worked in famous Japanese Department Store as the buyer for 20 years.

Present occupation and affiliations

Director, Japan Institute of Design Promotion (JDP)

In addition to organizing the G Mark, established the Good Design New Hope Award, the encouragement and networking scheme for students and young talents in 2022. Also, to create opportunities for children to become familiar with design from an early age, collaborate with schools.

I successfully led the 33rd World Design Assembly in Tokyo in 2023 as Secretary General of the Executive Committee, engaging all Japanese WDO members. I secured sponsorship from over 10 Japanese companies, raising 27 million JPY. The Congress welcomed a record number of WDO members and facilitated vibrant discussions. These efforts have significantly strengthened WDO’s presence in Asia and globally.

At JDP, I manage a team of 20 staff across various initiatives, including design research, educational program development, designer-manufacturer matchmaking, and the G Mark initiative.
